A newborn has apparently become the youngest individual on the planet to check positive for the novel coronavirus.
The infant’s mom was hurried to healthcare facility in London with presumed pneumonia a few days back, the Sun reported.
Once it was established that both mom and child had coronavirus, they were put in separate health centers over night to get treatment.
The mother, who did not know she had coronavirus up until after giving birth, was evaluated at North Middlesex Healthcare Facility, Enfield, according to the Sun.
The infant was tested within minutes of being born at the medical facility, and is still receiving treatment there.
The mother, meanwhile, has actually supposedly been transferred to a specialist infections healthcare facility.
Health center personnel who entered into contact with the mom and newborn have been advised to self-isolate.
It’s unknown whether the infant contracted the virus in the womb or throughout the labour.
“2 clients at North Middlesex University medical facility have actually tested favorable for coronavirus. One has been moved to a professional centre and one is being dealt with in a seclusion room,” North Middlesex University Medical facility NHS trust said in a declaration.
“The safety of our patients and personnel is our top priority, so in following guidance from Public Health England, we are routinely deep cleaning the areas where the patients are cared for and staff who were in close contact with these patients were advised to self-isolate.”
